Minister of Sport Anil Roberts yesterday reiterated his call for Anthony Harford, chairman of the T&T Football Federation's Authorization Committee, to provide copies of bills, receipts and invoices, to collaborate accounts, which the auditor general has requested.
Responding to both financial director of All Sport Promotions Bruce Aanensen and Harford (SEE PAGE 63), who one day prior had claimed that all accounts were in order, Roberts insisted that bills and other forms of evidence to support accounts provided, have not been submitted, despite requests from the auditor general through the permanent secretary in the Sport Ministry, Ashwin Creed.
He also described Aanensen's remarks as "fast and out of place," since his ministry had no dealings with All Sport, but was dealing with Harford in his capacity as chairman of the T&T Football Federation's Authorization Committee.
Roberts held a media conference at the Ministry of Sport, Abercromby Street, and claimed that the final accounts submitted by Harford in January included certain questionable charges.
He alleged that a payment made to Harford which was supposed to cater for salaries, has not been paid.
Roberts said the auditor general has issues with the manner in which funds were distributed to the TTFF, and management fees to All Sport Promotions.
Roberts distributed the most recent letter to Harford, dated yesterday, in which he again called for invoices, bills and receipts for the 24 items of expenditure listed in the statement.
The letter stated: "You would recall that in your letter received September 27, 2012, you indicated that I acknowledge receipt of the accounts, which provide full details of expenditure along with invoices, bills and receipts.
"To date, all you have provided is an expenditure statement with no supporting documents. In addition, the auditor general has also queried the authority for payments of monthly expenses to TTFF and management fees to All Sport Promotions."
