Titans splashed off the swimming season with convincing wins at the 13th annual Stingray October Classic and the third Peter Awong Memorial hosted by Tsunami Swim Club which were both held at the St Michael's Swimming Pool Facility, Carib Street, San Fernando.
At the Stingray Swim Meet on October 6 and 7, led by Caribbean Islands Swimming Championship 5km Open Water gold medallist Theana Hay who placed first in the 15-17 girls age group, Titans won 11 individual high point age-group trophies and amassed 1,309 points, ahead of Tidal Wave Aquatics with 1,115 points and Blue Dolphins with 430 points.
Other age-group winners for Titans were Daniel Jesurum (Eight and Under boys), Kyle Carraciolo (13-14 boys) and Christopher Greene (15 & Over boys) while second place winners included Melina Marcano (13-14 girls) and Vikash Ramtahal (15 & Over boys) and third, Shakeera Villaroel (Eight and Under girls), Amira Pilgrim (11-12 girls), Osaze Riley (11-12 boys), and in the 13–14 boys, Joshua Ramkissoon and Aaron Acres.
One weekend later, Carifta and CISC gold medallist Amia Pilgrim, who won the 11-12 girls category, led Titans to 1,061 points and the title, 409 points ahead of nearest rival Tidal Wave Aquatics. Third was Silver Sharks with 285 points.
Jesurum again won his age group, together with Riley, Marcano and Ramkissoon. Rochelle Jackson (11-12 girls), John-Paul Pedro (11-12 boys), Rochelle Pierre (15 & Over girls) and Greene were second in their respective age groups.
Third place trophies were won by Villaroel, Carraciolo, Shenia Clapperton (11-12 girls), Justin Samlalsingh (11-12) boys' and joint 13-14 girls winners, Johnnya Ferdinand and T'Shelle Williams.
Titans' coaches have given their charges the option to rest this weekend for the Torpedoes Invitational, with the main focus of the club being the Annual ASATT December Invitational.
The club has had a successful year thus far winning the Sea Hawks New Year's Splash in January, and second at the Stingray May Classic.
