Na­tion­al Un­der-21 for­ward Bri­an­na Govia scored a hat-trick to lead Shandy Carib Mag­no­lias to a com­fort­able 7-1 whip­ping of Mar­itime Har­vard Check­ers in the T&T Hock­ey Board's In­door Cham­pi­onship Women's Open Di­vi­sion at Wood­brook Youth Fa­cil­i­ty, Hamil­ton Hold­er Street, Wood­brook, on Thurs­day night.

Govia found the back of the net in the 18th, 35th and 38th min­utes for Mag­no­lias, while for­mer na­tion­al stand­out Stacey Siu Butt added a dou­ble, in the eighth and 20th and Mi­ka El­la Tang and Elise Olton, one each to push their team's points tal­ly to sev­en from three match­es, two be­hind Ven­tures which has max­i­mum nine points to head the sev­en-team ta­ble.

Brit­tney Hingh got the lone goal for Check­ers in the 17th minute while the loss left it third on the stand­ing with six points from four match­es, two more than Paragon which has a match in hand. In the men's Open, de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Petrotrin got a goal each from four dif­fer­ent play­ers to hold off Coro­na Fa­ti­ma 4-3 to go sec­ond on the ta­ble with ten points from four match­es, two be­hind Queen's Park which has a per­fect 12 points af­ter beat­ing Paragon 5-3 led by a Jor­dan Reynos brace.
