Raj Ramnanan was best on show in the Scalextric World Championships on Saturday when he topped all racers at Valpark Shopping Plaza in Valsayn. Ramnanan of St Helena, driving his Lamborgini Gallardo, clocked 36.5 seconds.
After four rounds of competition in the North, Gulf City in La Romain will be the hosts on Saturday for the penultimate Championships event, which will include Ramesh Bhola and other top South drivers, competing to determine who will be Trinidad's top driver.
Last Saturday, Stacyan Rivers of St Ann's was the best racer when she won in 38.7 seconds, racing the Audi 8 to victory at Maritime Centre in Barataria. Sameer Barath, driving a Lamborghini Gallardo, clocked 43.6 seconds, to win the Trincity Mall leg on November 10.
Each week the information for the competition is e-mailed to Hornby Hobbies in Margate, Kent, to Adrian Norman, co-ordinator of the World Championship competition. The final competition returns to Valpark Shopping Plaza on December 8, to bring down the curtain on this exciting new competition.
