Af­ter a two-week Christ­mas hol­i­day break, De­fence Force will re­sume its quest for a sec­ond Dig­i­cel T&T Pro League ti­tle and record 20th na­tion­al league crown in lo­cal foot­ball his­to­ry when it faces St Ann's Rangers in a fea­ture match of a dou­ble-head­er to­mor­row at Man­nie Ramjohn Sta­di­um, Mara­bel­la, from 8 pm.

The Ross Rus­sell-coached "Teteron Boys" trashed de­fend­ing cham­pi­on Di­recTV W Con­nec­tion 5-1 on De­cem­ber 21 to close out the first half of the league cam­paign last month to head the eight-team ta­ble with 16 points from sev­en match­es, three more than Neal & Massy Cale­do­nia AIA which has a match in hand, while un­beat­en North East Stars (10) and W Con­nec­tion (9) are next.

Rangers, mean­while, which drew 2-2 with Po­lice on De­cem­ber 22, is sec­ond from bot­tom with five points from six match­es, two more than cel­lar-placed T&TEC.

Tonight's meet­ing be­tween De­fence Force and Rangers will al­so bring to­geth­er three of the league's top scor­ers in De­fence Force duo Josi­mar Bel­grave, for­mer­ly of Rangers, and De­vorn Jorsling, with six and five goals, re­spec­tive­ly, go­ing up against Rangers' De­von Mod­este, who has al­so net­ted six times.

Two hours be­fore, the "Elec­tric­i­ty Boys" will have a chance to climb off the foot of the stand­ings when they come up against Po­lice, joint fifth with debu­tants Cen­tral FC on six points from sev­en and five match­es, re­spec­tive­ly.

On Sat­ur­day, a dou­ble-head­er is al­so sched­uled for Ato Boldon Sta­di­um, Cou­va, from 6 pm, with Cen­tral FC and W Con­nec­tion meet­ing in a "Cen­tral Der­by," fol­lowed by Stars against Cale­do­nia.
