After a two-week Christmas holiday break, Defence Force will resume its quest for a second Digicel T&T Pro League title and record 20th national league crown in local football history when it faces St Ann's Rangers in a feature match of a double-header tomorrow at Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, from 8 pm.
The Ross Russell-coached "Teteron Boys" trashed defending champion DirecTV W Connection 5-1 on December 21 to close out the first half of the league campaign last month to head the eight-team table with 16 points from seven matches, three more than Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA which has a match in hand, while unbeaten North East Stars (10) and W Connection (9) are next.
Rangers, meanwhile, which drew 2-2 with Police on December 22, is second from bottom with five points from six matches, two more than cellar-placed T&TEC.
Tonight's meeting between Defence Force and Rangers will also bring together three of the league's top scorers in Defence Force duo Josimar Belgrave, formerly of Rangers, and Devorn Jorsling, with six and five goals, respectively, going up against Rangers' Devon Modeste, who has also netted six times.
Two hours before, the "Electricity Boys" will have a chance to climb off the foot of the standings when they come up against Police, joint fifth with debutants Central FC on six points from seven and five matches, respectively.
On Saturday, a double-header is also scheduled for Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, from 6 pm, with Central FC and W Connection meeting in a "Central Derby," followed by Stars against Caledonia.
