Cale­do­nia AIA end­ed North East Stars' un­de­feat­ed run in the Dig­i­cel Pro League, while it kept with­in reach of lead­ers De­fence Force, fol­low­ing a 1-0 vic­to­ry at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um, Cou­va, on Sat­ur­day night.

Cale­do­nia, which sits in sec­ond po­si­tion with 16 points and a match in hand, re­mains just three points adrift from De­fence Force.

The 'Sol­diers' thrashed St Ann's Rangers 8-0 at the Man­nie Ramjohn Sta­di­um, Mara­bel­la, on Fri­day night, to re­main on top of the eight-team stand­ings. And, while Cale­do­nia may have on­ly edged the San­gre Grande-based club 1-0 with a su­perb goal by strik­er Trevin Cae­sar, the Jer­ry Moe-coached Mor­vant, Laven­tille club was sure­ly de­light­ed with full points in re­tal­i­a­tion against An­gus Eve's men who de­feat­ed them 3-1 in Match-Day One.

North East Stars (ten points), which is un­de­feat­ed in their pre­vi­ous six League match­es, slipped a spot in­to fourth, while Di­recTV W Con­nec­tion mov­ing in­to third on 12 points.

Stars came clos­est to a goal in the 37th minute when a poked at­tempt by Ker­ry Bap­tiste off Eli­jah Man­ners' well-worked cross slipped un­der goal­keep­er Glen­roy Samuel who even­tu­al­ly gath­ered.

But in the 39th minute, Stars' de­fence was de­stroyed by a quick run on the left by Cae­sar and goal­keep­er Cleon John beat­en by the To­bag­on­ian for­ward for the 1-0 score.

In the 76th minute Ataullah Guer­ra should have had Cale­do­nia two goals ahead but blast­ed his at­tempt just wide, on­ly shav­ing the side net­ting with his right foot­ed ef­fort from in­side the area.

None-the-less Guer­ra, along with in­flu­en­tial mid­field­ers Den­sil Theobald and Key­on Ed­wards and the light­en­ing Cae­sar all cel­e­brat­ed a win in the end.
