Newcomers Les Femmes recorded a 26-18 win over Complete Customer Service (CCS) as it opened the Courts All Sectors Netball League (ASNL) Retro Division with a bang at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Orange Grove Road, Tacarigua, on Monday.
Pamela Nathaniel led for the victors with 20 goals from 27 attempts, while her teammate Maylin Peters aided with six goals from seven tries.
Les Femmes held a narrow 6-4 first-quarter lead before controlling the second period for a 13-6 half-time advantage.
The match was wrapped up within the third period when Les Femmes left with a 21-12 lead.
Sherry Thomas was CCS's top shooter with 15 points from 28 attempts.
In the day's other match Les Enfants, led by Michelle Boyce and Joanne Payne, who sank 17 and 5 goals, respectively, recorded an easy 22-14 win over Harlem.
Jill Humphrey scored 13 goals for the losing team.
Last evening, the Alternative Division opened with a clash between champions TSTT and the University of the Southern Caribbean, which preceeded a battle between Police and the University of T&T.
Championship and Premiership action will commence on Saturday with five matches, beginning from 1 pm (see attached fixtures).
