Goalat­tack Jameela Mc Carthy once again had the hot hands to lead Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T (UTT) to a tense 38-34 come-from-be­hind win over Uni­ver­si­ty of South­ern Caribbean (USC) when match­es in the Al­ter­na­tive Di­vi­sion of the 23rd sea­son of the Courts All Sec­tors Net­ball League (ASNL) con­tin­ued at the East­ern Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na, Or­ange Grove Road, Tacarigua on Thurs­day.

For UTT, which de­feat­ed Po­lice 36-28 in its open­er on Tues­day, Mc Carthy con­vert­ed 29 of her 40 at­tempts while goal­shoot Chris-Ann Petrovani added nine from 16 as they ral­lied from a 10-11 first quar­ter deficit to lead 20-18 at the half, and 31-28 at the end of the third quar­ter.

USC, which stunned de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons TSTT in its open­er, 34-17 al­so on Tues­day, got a team-high 28 goals from 37 at­tempts from Afiya Alex­is while Gra­bielle Good­ing, chipped in with six from eight.To­day, the Cham­pi­onship and Pre­mier Di­vi­sions will jump off to­mor­row from 1 pm.

In the Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion, Bermudez meets De­fence Force from 1 pm fol­lowed by last year's run­ner-up Fire Ser­vice against UWI and then de­fend­ing cham­pi­on Po­lice tack­les 2012 sec­ond run­ner-up Jabloteh.

UTT, win­ners of the Open­ing Day knock­out tour­ney and Sat­ur­day be­gins de­fence of its Pre­mier­ship crown against last year's sec­ond place fin­ish­er, Po­lice from 6 pm with for­mer win­ners, Fire Ser­vice and De­fence Force squar­ing off at 4.45 pm.
