The fix­ture fol­lowed a goal­less stale­mate be­tween the league's newest ad­di­tion, Cen­tral FC and fifth-placed Po­lice FC.

Rangers' win pushed it up to sixth spot in the ta­ble, as it leapfrogged Cen­tral FC.

T&TEC's loss, mean­while, kept it at the foot of the eight-team stand­ings with three points from just one win in nine out­ings.

Mod­este's goal was on­ly the sec­ond item scored on the week­end, as on­ly one ef­fort went in­to the net in the dou­ble-head­er which was staged on Fri­day, at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Wright­son Road.

Na­tion­al for­ward De­vorn Jorsling's goal in the 82nd minute kept 2011 cham­pi­on De­fence Force clear at the top of the stand­ings with a 1-0 win over North East Stars, while the night's oth­er match saw Cale­do­nia AIA and W Con­nec­tion main­tain sec­ond and third spot, re­spec­tive­ly, af­ter play­ing to a nil-nil draw.
