Un­beat­en East Sec­tor Three group win­ner Va­len­cia will be in the line-up along with half of the re­main­ing six­teen (16) teams in pur­suit of $1 mil­lion, when sud­den-death ac­tion in the Hoop of Life Com­mu­ni­ty Bas­ket­ball League jumps off at var­i­ous venues, from 7 pm tonight.

Va­len­cia will host Pa­lo Seco in what is ex­pect­ed to be a tough en­counter for both teams at the Va­len­cia Bas­ket­ball Court.

Led by Fab­rice Fish­er, Va­len­cia com­pris­es a tal­ent­ed group in­clud­ing point guard Ivan Williams, cen­tre Michael Saun­ders and for­wards Ste­fan Davis and Dex­ter Thomas.

Pa­lo Seco, too, has a ca­pa­ble of­fense. De­von Wadell, who is cur­rent­ly the league record scor­er in a sin­gle match with 48 points, leads Pa­lo Seco's for­wards. He will be as­sist­ed by foot­ball goal­keep­er-turned-bas­ket­baller in Michael May­ers, as well as Shameem Gar­cia, a tal­ent­ed for­ward with an eye for three-point­ers.

The six un­beat­en teams are La Ro­maine, Mal­oney, Va­len­cia, Laven­tille, Canaan-Bon Ac­cord and Mo­ri­ah. They will be put to the test from tonight as the league's top 24 bat­tle it out in the knock­out round.

The first round of the knock­out phase of the com­pe­ti­tion takes place to­day and to­mor­row, with four match­es on each day.
