T&T's past, current and future generations of sporting icons will renew or establish new friendships when the Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC) hosts its third annual First Citizens National Sporting Heroes Reunion Brunch Lime at the Queen's Park Oval, Port-of-Spain, on February 10.
The event, which will attract household names including Olympic medallists, is also sponsored by Carib Brewery, Berger Paints, Gatorade, among others.
Some of the country's most recognised teams will be represented at the function including Leroy De Leon's football academy from Point Fortin, Harvard's youth sports clinic, Queen's Royal College and the QPCC youth hockey academy, along with Ventures, Paragon, Maple, Magnolias and Malvern.
This year, the brunch 'lime' will also recognise the nation's 50th anniversary and bring together individuals and teams that played a role in contributing to T&T's sporting heritage in each and every discipline at community, school, club, regional, national and international level in any capacity, from coach, administrator, player, fans to media practitioners.
Entertainment will be provided by calysonians KP Charles and Wayne Dopson, Neal "Abebele" Baptiste, Aaron Duncan and Jaylana Bryan, as well as Woodbrook Playboys, moko jumbies, fire breathers and music from DJ Duane Gopeechan. A contribution of $100 is required for adults, while children aged 12 years and under pay $50. Coolers are allowed at the venue and a cash bar will be available.
Teams and groups who wish to arrange their own club/team reunion within the event may contact Starlene Noel at 622-4325 or 622-2295, or Corintia Bayne at 625-1801/3.
