T&T's past, cur­rent and fu­ture gen­er­a­tions of sport­ing icons will re­new or es­tab­lish new friend­ships when the Queen's Park Crick­et Club (QPCC) hosts its third an­nu­al First Cit­i­zens Na­tion­al Sport­ing He­roes Re­union Brunch Lime at the Queen's Park Oval, Port-of-Spain, on Feb­ru­ary 10.

The event, which will at­tract house­hold names in­clud­ing Olympic medal­lists, is al­so spon­sored by Carib Brew­ery, Berg­er Paints, Gatorade, among oth­ers.

Some of the coun­try's most recog­nised teams will be rep­re­sent­ed at the func­tion in­clud­ing Leroy De Leon's foot­ball acad­e­my from Point Fortin, Har­vard's youth sports clin­ic, Queen's Roy­al Col­lege and the QPCC youth hock­ey acad­e­my, along with Ven­tures, Paragon, Maple, Mag­no­lias and Malvern.

This year, the brunch 'lime' will al­so recog­nise the na­tion's 50th an­niver­sary and bring to­geth­er in­di­vid­u­als and teams that played a role in con­tribut­ing to T&T's sport­ing her­itage in each and every dis­ci­pline at com­mu­ni­ty, school, club, re­gion­al, na­tion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al lev­el in any ca­pac­i­ty, from coach, ad­min­is­tra­tor, play­er, fans to me­dia prac­ti­tion­ers.

En­ter­tain­ment will be pro­vid­ed by calyso­ni­ans KP Charles and Wayne Dop­son, Neal "Abebele" Bap­tiste, Aaron Dun­can and Jay­lana Bryan, as well as Wood­brook Play­boys, moko jumbies, fire breathers and mu­sic from DJ Du­ane Gopeechan. A con­tri­bu­tion of $100 is re­quired for adults, while chil­dren aged 12 years and un­der pay $50. Cool­ers are al­lowed at the venue and a cash bar will be avail­able.
