Joyce­lyn Mar­celle had an­oth­er suc­cess­ful out­ing when she led all scor­ers with 22 goals from 27 at­tempts to guide Bermudez to its fifth con­sec­u­tive vic­to­ry on the trot, this time at the ex­pense of UWI (43-36), as ac­tion con­tin­ued in the Courts All Sec­tors Net­ball League, on Thurs­day evening.

Bermudez, which was on top from the on­set and cruised to a 23-15 lead at the half, re­mained on top of the six-team stand­ings with 10 points, two more than Po­lice, which dropped De­fence Force 46-28 in the day's open­ing Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion match.

In the win for Bermudez, Mar­celle was giv­en sup­port from Kathy James who scored 17 goals from 23 at­tempts. For the los­ing team, UWI, which sits sec­ond from bot­tom with one win in five out­ings, Abeni Tay­lor led the charge with 18 goals from 27 tries. Akeela Ro­driguez scored 13 for UWI from 25 at­tempts. Po­lice, too, con­trolled its en­counter against De­fence Force with a lead in all four quar­ters, 12-8, 23-13, 36-21, 46-28.

Jenice McIn­tosh and Don­neisha Wick­ham were the top scor­ers with Po­lice with 19 goals (from 23 at­tempts) and 13 (from 21), re­spec­tive­ly. Clau­dia Joseph al­so aid­ed with 12 from 19 at­tempts. De­spite her team's loss, Melis­sa Snag­gs James was the match's lead­ing scor­er with 21 goals from 30 at­tempts.

The league and all of its di­vi­sions will be out of ac­tion for two weeks dur­ing Car­ni­val, and will re­sume on Feb­ru­ary 14.
