The Ro­hit Dube-trained Big Man, third in the St James Stakes, is my nap se­lec­tion to win the fea­ture Roy­al Colours Clas­sic over 1,300 me­tres to­day at San­ta Rosa Park, Ari­ma.Big Man fin­ished be­hind the classy Prince Ze­shan and sta­ble­mate War of Words, re­spec­tive­ly, and had Cen­tral Square 2 1/2 lengths adrift in that event.

The Jairaj Ram­lal-owned colt came back and slammed his ri­vals on Jan­u­ary 12, beat­ing the O'Brien-trained Al­ways A Princess by 5 1/4 lengths. Ap­pren­tice Keron Khelawan has pre­cious lit­tle to do that day and big-race rid­er No­bel Abrego takes over. The com­bi­na­tion should prove too good for Cen­tral Square.

Over the slight­ly short­er trip, Cen­tral Square will have his sup­port­ers as he will be rid­den by the red-hot Emile Ram­sam­my but Big Man could prove to be just that.At this time the fil­lies are way be­hind, the colts Right To Rule or Black Pep­per may get third spot ahead of the im­prov­ing Hy­at Princess.

In the co-fea­ture sprint over 1,100 me­tres on the turf, it looks a straight fight be­tween the Harold Chadee-trained Smart Amer­i­can and the Mani­ram Ma­haraj-owned Fly Ju­nior. Both have not raced since Jan­u­ary 1 in the Sian's Gold Sprint when Smart Amer­i­can ran a "stormer" to be sec­ond to Sa­cred Trust. The in form Ram­sam­my now teams up with the Sian's Gold Favourite Fly Ju­nior and the tip should be tak­en. Post time for the first event to­day is noon.
