Sprint lasses Kamaria Durant, Kyla-Maria Senford,Thyla Marie Scott captured two titles at the Third NAAA Development Meet at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva on January 26.
Durant (Simplex) was the quickest in the women's 100 and 200 sprints taking the shorter sprint in 11.89 in topping heat 1 Durant was well ahead of second place Janae Alexander (Memphis) who clocked 12.37 in winning heat two from Zakiya Denoon (Zenith) in third 12.53. The 22 year old returned to grab the 200m (24.29) to finish ahead of Kayelle Clarke (Petrotrin PAP) 24.66 and Ramona Modeste (Neon Trackers) 25.17.
Senford (Memphis) also competed a 100/200 double in the girls under 15 division. In the 100m Senford was first to the line in 13.14 relegating Akeena Esdelle (Pt Fortin New Jets) 13.58 and Shania Mc Carter (Memphis) 13.71 to the minor places. In the 200m Senford topped the field in 27.11 from Cougars' Kershell McIntyre (27.34) and Juia McSween (Abilene) 27.46. Scott copped the 200 and 400m in the girls under 17 competition. Scott (Cougars) won the 400m in 1:01.19 from Jael Ferguson (Abilene) 1:03.90 and Kalifa Joseph (Cougars) 1:04.83. In the 200m Scott was again victorious (26.37). Jerisa James (Memphis) 26.97 and Kadesh Prescott (Concorde) 27.34 were second and third.
The Fourth NAAA Development is set for the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva today beginning at 10'clock in the morning.
