Seenath's Auto Bamboo's Rishaard Harris belted an unbeaten 109 while Alescon Comets' Kieron Joseph hit 91 as their teams battled to a dramatic tie in the fourth round of the National League 50 overs competition in Bamboo yesterday.
Harris's innings help Bamboo recover from 101 for five in the 22nd over to 255 for eight batting first. He shared valuable stands with Ryan Baksh (30) and Dillon Pattia (27) for the sixth (60) and seventh (62) wickets respectively, facing 119 balls with nine fours and three sixes.
In reply, Comets were in trouble at 187 for eight in the 43rd when opener Joseph finally departed after 116 balls. However, number nine Zad Clarke played a stunning knock of 41 from 23 balls, adding 46 for the ninth wicket with tailender Kissoondath Magram (15 no).
When Clarke departed at 233 for nine, Comets still needed another 22 off 16 balls. Ancil Bhagan (10 no) then joined Magram and together they drew the scores even to complete an unlikely tie.
Meanwhile, at Wilson Road, an unbeaten 87 by Anthony Bramble carried FC Clarke Road to a tight, three-wicket win over Aranguez. Chasing 183 for victory, Clarke Road lost regular wickets though Bramble held his composure to carry his side across the line with nine balls to spare. He was supported by Adrian Ali, who made a crucial 45, while Dion Ferrier almost pulled the match back for Aranguez with two for 35.
Earlier, Aranguez had been boosted by Hanuman Moonsammy's 85, which helped them reach 182 all out. Shazan Babbwah (427) and Sanjeev Gooljar (334) were the top bowlers for Clarke Road.
In St Clair, batsmen Petrock Nicholas (73), Isaiah Rajah (51) and Jonathan Augustus (49 no) guided Queen's Park to a comfortable six-wicket win over Moosai SC. Batting first, Moosai reached 222 for nine with Ewart Nicholson (50), Jetendra Sookdeo (41) and Navin Stewart (35) making the main contributions and Anthony Simmons grabbing three for 44.
In reply, Queen's Park cruised to 227 for four in 46.3 overs.
