Endurance specialist Varun Maharajh will open T&T's account at the 2013 Pan American Championships, when he lines up in the points race, at the CNAR Velodrome, Mexico City, Mexico, tomorrow.
Maharajh, is among T&T's three-man team, which also consists of Azikiwe Kellar and Kwesi Browne, both of whom with compete in sprint events.
The national team, which was initially a five-person delegation was cut down to three, with the late exclusions of top female cyclist Jodi Goodridge, who was forced to withdraw due to an eye infection, while Justin Roberts was barred from entering due to age restrictions.
Kellar and Browne will begin their competitive quest a day later, on Thursday, when they compete in the keirin. Maharajh will also be in action on that day when he competes in the individual pursuit.
The team will be managed and coached by Gregory D'Andrade, while Roger Smart has been appointed as the team mechanic.
This year the annual continental championship will host over 15 countries from the western hemisphere.
