En­durance spe­cial­ist Varun Ma­hara­jh will open T&T's ac­count at the 2013 Pan Amer­i­can Cham­pi­onships, when he lines up in the points race, at the CNAR Velo­drome, Mex­i­co City, Mex­i­co, to­mor­row.

Ma­hara­jh, is among T&T's three-man team, which al­so con­sists of Aziki­we Kel­lar and Kwe­si Browne, both of whom with com­pete in sprint events.

The na­tion­al team, which was ini­tial­ly a five-per­son del­e­ga­tion was cut down to three, with the late ex­clu­sions of top fe­male cy­clist Jo­di Goodridge, who was forced to with­draw due to an eye in­fec­tion, while Justin Roberts was barred from en­ter­ing due to age re­stric­tions.

Kel­lar and Browne will be­gin their com­pet­i­tive quest a day lat­er, on Thurs­day, when they com­pete in the keirin. Ma­hara­jh will al­so be in ac­tion on that day when he com­petes in the in­di­vid­ual pur­suit.

The team will be man­aged and coached by Gre­go­ry D'An­drade, while Roger Smart has been ap­point­ed as the team me­chan­ic.

This year the an­nu­al con­ti­nen­tal cham­pi­onship will host over 15 coun­tries from the west­ern hemi­sphere.
