Pow­er­Gen has tak­en the lead af­ter the open­ing round of match­es in the T&T Crick­et Board's 2013 Pre­mier­ship se­ries.

The Pow­er­Gen boys on the back of a dou­ble 10 from open­er Nicholas Sookdeosingh de­feat­ed new­com­ers Di­a­mond Unit­ed by an in­nings at Syne Vil­lage in Pe­nal. With the win Pow­er­Gen got 26 points to move in­to the ear­ly lead.

Close on their heals in de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Queen's Park Crick­et Club who al­so won their open­ing game. The Parkites miss­ing some of their top play­ers were able to re­bound and de­feat Bam­boo af­ter los­ing on first in­nings. The cat­a­lyst to their vic­to­ry was a bril­liant hun­dred by Petrock Nicholas. The Oval Boys got 26 points for the win and will be look­ing to con­tin­ue their win­ning ways this com­ing week­end.

Al­so on win­ners row was Ale­scon Comets crick­et club led by for­mer T&T cap­tain Daren Gan­ga.

The right han­der him­self scored an at­trac­tive half cen­tu­ry in their first in­nings to push them to vic­to­ry over new­com­ers Cal­drac at Cal­i­for­nia.

Moo­sai Sports fol­lows in the stand­ings with 24 points af­ter get­ting a win by de­fault over W-Con­nec­tion Wan­der­ers who con­tin­ues to stay away from the crick­et over their protest ac­tion.

Fol­low­ing Moo­sai are Aranguez (17), Clarke Road (16), Es­mer­al­da (9) and Mer­ry Boys (9) all of whom played to draws in their first match.
