Ale­scon Comets crick­et team led by for­mer T&T cap­tain Daren Gan­ga has tak­en the lead in the T&T Crick­et Board (TTCB) Pre­mier­ship tour­na­ment af­ter their vic­to­ry over F&E Di­a­mond Unit­ed on the week­end.

Go­ing in­to the sec­ond round the Parkites held a slim one-point lead over Pow­er­Gen with Comest in third po­si­tion. On Sun­day evening both Queen's Park and Comets record­ed out­right vic­to­ries. Queen's Park got 23 points, while Comets got 25 points for their win.

As the team heads in­to this week­end's ac­tion, Comets go in as lead­ers with 51 points - two ahead of QPCC who has 49. In third po­si­tion is Moo­sai Sports who got 24 points from their for­feit­ed game against W-Con­nec­tion Wan­der­ers in the first round and a first in­nings win last week­end. They have 37 points and fol­low­ing in fourth po­si­tion one point be­hind them is Pow­er­Gen, who bat­tled to a draw against Es­mer­al­da in the last round.

First Cit­i­zens Clarke Road Unit­ed, hav­ing a sol­id sea­son so thus has 34 points af­ter win­ning two match­es on first in­nings. New­com­ers Cal­drac fol­lows with 30 points af­ter get­ting 24 points from their for­feit­ed clash against Wan­der­ers who con­tin­ue not to show for their match­es be­cause of protest ac­tions.

Prop­ping up the ta­ble are new­com­ers Di­a­mond Unit­ed with eight points, they would con­sid­er them­selves un­lucky, as they just lost out to Comets by 36 runs in their last game.
