Olympic sailor An­drew Lewis con­tin­ued his fine ear­ly sea­son form by fin­ish­ing a cred­itable 12th out of 59 com­peti­tors at the 2013 Laser Mid­win­ter's East Re­gat­ta over the week­end.

The event took place at the Clear­wa­ter Yacht Club in Clear­wa­ter, Flori­da, and was Lewis' third com­pe­ti­tion for the year. Af­ter start­ing well with a 13th place fin­ish in his first two races, An­drew went on to record plac­ing of 12th, eighth and 11th in the next three races.

His sixth race proved to be his best of the re­gat­ta as he got to the line in sixth place. Lewis con­tin­ued to bat­tle the field com­plet­ing his fi­nal four races in 12th, eighth, 11th and tenth po­si­tions.

Lewis re­turned home yes­ter­day and will be based here for three weeks as he pre­pares for his next re­gat­ta in Spain, which be­gins March 30.
