Olympic sailor Andrew Lewis continued his fine early season form by finishing a creditable 12th out of 59 competitors at the 2013 Laser Midwinter's East Regatta over the weekend.
The event took place at the Clearwater Yacht Club in Clearwater, Florida, and was Lewis' third competition for the year. After starting well with a 13th place finish in his first two races, Andrew went on to record placing of 12th, eighth and 11th in the next three races.
His sixth race proved to be his best of the regatta as he got to the line in sixth place. Lewis continued to battle the field completing his final four races in 12th, eighth, 11th and tenth positions.
Lewis returned home yesterday and will be based here for three weeks as he prepares for his next regatta in Spain, which begins March 30.
