South front run­ners La Ro­maine and Mara­bel­la were award­ed the home court ad­van­tage for the de­ci­sive sec­ond leg of the Big-Four com­pe­ti­tion against their for­mi­da­ble north­ern coun­ter­parts Laven­tille and Cale­do­nia, when the Hoop of Life Com­mu­ni­ty Bas­ket­ball League staged its semi­fi­nal draw yes­ter­day.

The draw, which was staged at the tour­na­ment head­quar­ters on Tra­garete Road, saw La Ro­maine faced with a trip to St Barb's Bas­ket­ball Court, Laven­tille, for the first leg, which will played on Fri­day.

The day fol­low­ing, Cale­do­nia will host Mara­bel­la at Par­adise Heights Bas­ket­ball Court, Mor­vant. Mara­bel­la were clear­ly elat­ed at avoid­ing the rel­a­tive tour­na­ment favourite, Laven­tille, when cap­tain Joel Mar­ryshaw made the pull.

The teams' four cap­tains, point guard Mar­ryshow, cen­tre Wilt Vin­cent of Cale­do­nia, guards Ken­neth Roberts of Laven­tille and La Ro­maine's Dereck Box­ill, drew their op­po­nents.

On Sun­day, La Ro­maine will en­ter­tain Laven­tille at its Lucky Street, La Ro­maine home court, where a large home crowd is ex­pect­ed to cheer their team on for the cov­et­ed $1 mil­lion prize.

And on Mon­day, Mara­bel­la will play its north­ern coun­ter­part, Cale­do­nia, at the Bayshore court.The match­es will be played on a best of two se­ries with the top teams en­ter­ing the fi­nals based on points ag­gre­gate. The Big-Four losers will com­pete in a third place play off.

The first prize stands at $1 mil­lion, while the sec­ond and third-placed prizes are set at $500,000 and $250,000, re­spec­tive­ly.
