Three days following its victory over reigning champion Police, UWI got another win in the Championship Division of the Courts All Sectors Netball League on Monday when the club trumped Jabloteh 29-25 at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sport Arena, Tacarigua.

UWI led through all quarters, albeit narrowly, in a low-scoring encounter, with Abeni Taylor again leading the way with the night’s highest goal tally. Taylor scored 15 goals, the same number from her last outing, but was sharper on Monday with just 24 attempts, as opposed to the 32 attempts against Police last Friday.  UWI’s goal attack Akeela Rodriguez helped out with 14 goals from 25 attempts. Debra Beckles (11 goals from 21 attempts) and Debra Bain (10 goals from 13 attempts) were Jabloteh’s top scorers on the evening.

The win saw UWI climb up the ladder to join Jabloteh on seven points, for joint-fourth spot and five behind leader Bermudez. Meanwhile, two Retro Division matches were played, with leader TSTT and Harlem racking up easy victories. Led by on-form goal-attack Debra Alie, who scored an impressive 27 goals from 36 attempts, TSTT cruised to its fifth consecutive win of the campaign with a 34-26 triumph over CCS which was well represented by Julia Britto, who scored a healthy 24 goals from 38 shots. In the first match, Harlem dropped Les Femmes 23-18, with Antoinette Jackson on target with 23 items from 40 efforts.
