Cale­do­nia cap­tured the third prize of $250,000 in the Hoop of Life Com­mu­ni­ty Bas­ket­ball League af­ter de­feat­ing La Ro­maine 73-60 in game-two of the Big-Four third place play-off. Af­ter los­ing the first match 89-77 on Wednes­day, Cale­do­nia need­ed to win by 13 points at the Par­adise Heights Bas­ket­ball Court, Mor­vant.

Play­ing in front of their fans, Cale­do­nia coached by Ruth­van Glean, got the per­fect start with six points from its cap­tain Wilt Vin­cent and sev­en from Kyeon Joseph to lead 21-12 af­ter the first quar­ter.

La Ro­maine nev­er looked ready for the chal­lenged and fell 34-21 be­hind at half-time.

In the third ses­sion, La Ro­maine led by Adri­an Joseph and na­tion­al point- guard Der­rick Box­ill showed some fight de­spite be­ing out-scored 20-16, but their deficit was 17 points (54-37) as the stan­za end­ed.

La Ro­maine did not have the crowd sup­port of the past 12 match­es.

For­ward Joseph led all scor­ers with 18 points, Wes­ley Vin­cent sup­port­ed with 16 and Wes­ley's broth­er and team cap­tain Wilt fin­ished with 14.

For La Ro­maine, Joseph had 14 points, Del­roy Agard added 12, Box­ill and Kevin Sar­gent (10).

Last night, Laven­tille and Mara­bel­la met in the first of a three-match fi­nal for the grand prize of $1 mil­lion
