The Kia swim around Gasparee Island hosted by Trinity Masters Swim Club which was originally carded for last Sunday (March 10) has been rescheduled due Meteorological Office warnings about adverse tidal conditions expected on that day.
The new date for the swim is April 14, when the tidal conditions are expected to be ideal for a swim around the island. This would also allow for the participation of top distance teenage swimmers, who will be returning from Jamaica after representing T&T at the Carifta Swimming Championships, which comes off in Kingston from March 29 to April 4.
The swim will begin at St Ignatius Bay on the north side of the island and participants will swim in a clockwise direction ending at the starting position.Start time will be 11.15 am and all swimmers are asked to be ready at Power Boats Marina Chaguaramas at 9.15 am to be transported to Gasparee Island.
The deadline for entries has been extended to April 9 and entry forms can be obtained from all member clubs of Amateur Swimming Association of T&T (ASATT) as well as Trinity Masters president Richard Borde at 391-7075; Linden Scott at 680-2189; Louis Martin at 681-4618 and Gordon Borde at 680-5464.
