National player Felicia Walters scored an unbeaten 107 last Sunday to lead powerhouse Phoenix Women to a huge 129-run win over a strong Technocrats outfit in the T&T Women's Cricket Association (TTWCA) 40-over League.
Many national players were on show in this Premiership Division match. Phoenix had the likes of Walters, Shenelle Lord, Britney Cooper and newly-appointed Samantha Bissoon, while Technocrats had Stacy Ann King and Gaitri Seetahal in their line-up.
In a reduced 38-over-per-side encounter at Brooklyn Recreation Ground, Phoenix posted a massive 197/6 behind Walters' century. Cooper and Bissoon both contributed 26, while King and Seetahal took one wicket apiece for Technocrats. In response, Technocrats never got going, mainly because of Cooper's 4/24. Walters was also among the wickets, grabbing 2/8.
Whitney Cudjoe's 16 was the top score for Technocrats as they could only muster 68 in 19.4 overs. Walters' brilliant all-round performance earned her Player of the Match and Player of the Round.
In other Premiership matches, Sarah Charles unbeaten 42 led Cricket Lovers to a seven-wicket win over Maaad Rangers, while three wickets apiece from Kamara Ragoobar (3/11) and Chadean Nation (3/28) gave Moosai Ladies an 82-run win over Spice Girls.
