Lead­ers Ale­scon Comets will come up against sec­ond-placed Moo­sai Sports, to­day, when round five match­es in the T&T Crick­et Board Pre­mier­ship tour­na­ment bowls off at var­i­ous venues through­out the coun­try.

Comets have en­joyed one of their bet­ter sea­sons in re­cent times, win­ning all four match­es to date and have gath­ered 100 points from their four match­es. They will start as favourites when they face Moo­sai. The east­ern team, packed with a num­ber of vet­er­ans in their line-up, is 22 points be­hind Comets and will be look­ing for win to go ahead of the Char­lieville Boys.

Third placed and de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Queen's Park, with their team packed with in­ter­na­tion­al stars, will make the jour­ney to Diego Mar­tin to tack­le Mer­ry­boys Sports. The Parkites, fresh from send­ing Mer­ry­boys out at the se­mi-fi­nal stage of the Sun­day League on Thurs­day night, will start as ob­vi­ous favourites.In the Queen's Park line-up will be Kieron Pol­lard, Dwayne Bra­vo, Sunil Nar­ine, Justin Guillen, Amit Jag­ger­nauth and Adri­an Barath. The main men on the Mer­ry­boys team will be Lendl Sim­mons, Rayad Em­rit and Al­cin­do Hold­er. Queen's Park goes in­to the clash with 75 points, while Mer­ry­boys have 64.

At Aranguez, Pow­er­Gen will have the ser­vices of the re­turn­ing Samuel Badree, as they come up against the home team at the Aranguez Recre­ation ground. Badree can be the key with his in­ter­na­tion­al ex­pe­ri­ence. Na­tion­al open­er Evin Lewis is in form af­ter get­ting 82 in the Sun­day league semis.In oth­er match­es, new­com­ers F&E Di­a­mond Unit­ed bat­tles Cal­drac at Kennedy Park and Bam­boo plays Es­mer­al­da at Es­mer­al­da. There will be no ac­tion for First Cit­i­zens Clarke Road this week­end as W-Con­nec­tion Wan­der­ers, who have de­fault­ed all their match­es to date, are card­ed to play them.

Af­ter this round, fourth-placed Clarke Road will move to 93 points as they will be gift­ed 24 points for the de­fault­ed clash. All match­es start at 10 am to­day.
