Francois returned as PoS netball president

Long-serving president Debbie Francois will sit for another year following the recent election of the Port-of-Spain Netball League executive board for 2013-2014.

 

Francois will remain at the helm for the 11th time since her first election in 2001. She served for every year since that time, with the exception of 2005. Veronica McDonald Nicholls also remains as first vice-president, while former PRO Lynette Duncan is the new second vice-president.

 

Odette Duncan, a former trustee, is now the secretary. New faces Monica Maule and Margaret Salazar are the assistant secretary and treasurer, respectively. Judy George remains as PRO.

 

Action gets underway almost immediately in the 2013 season which opens on Sunday with a march past of teams from 3 pm at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo. Following the judging of the march past, an exhibition match will be staged between coaches and umpires.

 

Tomorrow, a dress rehearsal will be staged at the same venue.
