The con­stituen­cy of Fyz­abad came alive on Sat­u­day March 16 at the St John's Recre­ation ground with the sounds and sights of crick­et love­ly crick­et as it launched its 2013 wind­ball crick­et com­pe­ti­tion with a dif­fer­ent style of su­per over crick­et.

The tour­na­ment which is the brain­child of the longest serv­ing mem­ber of Par­lia­ment and the Min­is­ter of Trans­port Chan­dresh Shar­ma reg­is­tered some 36 teams of which 30 are men and six are women.

The com­pe­ti­tion and event was co­or­di­nat­ed by The Crick­et Show Host Carl Ramdeo work­ing with a great group of con­stituen­cy mem­bers in­clud­ing the livewire Sil­ver­ine Ram­roop and Mr Heeru brought to­geth­er sev­er­al hun­dred per­sons from all across the con­stituen­cy in a launch which had all 36 teams on show in a spe­cial su­per over tour­na­ment.

The tour­na­ment will move in to gear on Mon­day, March 25 with games be­ing held at three ma­jor crick­et grounds in the con­stituen­cy (St John's, Col­ley Street and Stan­dard).

The tour­na­ment at­tract­ed sev­er­al spon­sors with The NL­CB be­ing the tour­na­ment and first prize spon­sor of $15,000.00, NAMDE­V­CO sec­ond prize $10,000.00, Valvo­line third prize $5,000.00 and AC DEL­CO fourth prize of $2,500.00. Spe­cial spon­sor­ship were re­ceived from The Sport Com­pa­ny of Trinidad and To­ba­go (SporTT).
