The constituency of Fyzabad came alive on Satuday March 16 at the St John's Recreation ground with the sounds and sights of cricket lovely cricket as it launched its 2013 windball cricket competition with a different style of super over cricket.
The tournament which is the brainchild of the longest serving member of Parliament and the Minister of Transport Chandresh Sharma registered some 36 teams of which 30 are men and six are women.
The competition and event was coordinated by The Cricket Show Host Carl Ramdeo working with a great group of constituency members including the livewire Silverine Ramroop and Mr Heeru brought together several hundred persons from all across the constituency in a launch which had all 36 teams on show in a special super over tournament.
The tournament will move in to gear on Monday, March 25 with games being held at three major cricket grounds in the constituency (St John's, Colley Street and Standard).
The tournament attracted several sponsors with The NLCB being the tournament and first prize sponsor of $15,000.00, NAMDEVCO second prize $10,000.00, Valvoline third prize $5,000.00 and AC DELCO fourth prize of $2,500.00. Special sponsorship were received from The Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT).
