Carifta selectees Jereem Richards, Lisa Wickham, Khemani Roberts, Omari Benoit, Reubin Walters and Ayodelle Taffe gave outstanding performances on Sunday's final day of the 12th annual Falcon Games at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
Richards (Abilene Wildcats) won the men's 400m in his best ever time of 45.51. Richards powered past clubmate and early race leader Kyle Greaux and Olympic finalist Jehue Gordon, to finish ahead of Guyana's Stephon James (46.96) and Gordon (46.99).
Wickham (Concorde) clocked a personal best in the 100 metres of 11.56 when second in the women's 100m to Concorde team-mate Nandel Cameron (11.46).
Veteran Ayanna Hutchinson was third. Roberts (Zenith) improved her pb in the high jump with a distance of 1.70, erasing her previous mark of 1.65 set at the Carifta trials earlier this month. Benoit (Tobago Falcons) took theB U17 event in a pb of 1.90 ahead of training partner Edson Moses (1.85).
Walters (Memphis) zoomed to the B U20 110m hurdles title in new pb of 13.66. Walters also set a personal best in of 52.85 in finished fourth in the men's 400m hurdles on Saturday.
Reiging Carifta champion Kenejah Williams and Chelsea James were also triumphant on Sunday. Williams took the B U18 discus with a throw of 50.85. Daniel McNish (Striders) 35.91 was second.
Carifta bound Jeminise Parris (Memphis) and Kermisha Parris (Toco Titans) finished 1-2 in the Girls U18 100m hurdles in 14.59 and 15.25 respectively. While Boys U20 100m representative Ayodelle Taffe (Abilene Wildcats) won the men's 100m B finals in 10.55 second (pb).
The Carifta B U20 4x400m team of Theon Lewis, Asa Guevera, Jonathan Farinha and Machel Cedenio clocked an outstanding time of 3:11.09 in winning the men's 4x400m.
In the multi-events, Tyriq Horsford (Zenith) and Aquilla St. Louis (D'Abadie Progressive) led the way. Horsford topped the field in the B 13-14 heptathlon winning by 4903 points.
He was 751 points ahead of second place Aaron Caesar (Pt. Fortin New Jets) 4152. St. Louis also dominated the 13-14 equivalent scoring 3287 to win from Anya Akili (Zenith) 3124.
The visiting Trupial club of Curacao secured both 11-12 Pentathlon crowns. Daniel Balentina took the boy's event (2627) while Urshely Louisa was the girls' winner (2177).
Tonya Nero captured the women's 10K road race in 37minutes 31 seconds ahead of Grenadian Kenesha Spann (39.39) and Jenelle Nedd (40.46).
Kenyan Silas Kisorio took the men's race in 32.27 to deny local Richard Jones (32.27), Matthew Hagley (32.35).
