All four remaining T&T players yesterday failed to get past the second round when play continued at the ITF Junior Circuit, Trinidad leg, at the King George V courts, St Clair.Nabeel Mohammed and Elan Murray-Mendez, both of whom represented T&T at the Junior Davis Cup pre-qualifying competition in El Salvador just last week, failed to make it to the quarterfinal phase, along with T&T's only seeded male, Joshua Abraham. The only female to make it to the second round, Kandis Legall, was also beaten.
The first T&T player to get underway was Nabeel Mohammed, who succumbed to a 6-2, 6-2, loss to American Alejandro Llamas. Murray-Mendez started well, but quickly fell apart to his Bahamian opponent Philip Major, who took the contest 6-3, 6-0.
Abraham, T&T's final male representative, was shutout after three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 by Christian Haushammer (USA). Legall also lost to a Bahamian, Simone Pratt, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3.
Nine local boys and four girls were in doubles action last evening. All matches concluded after press time.
