T&T twins Joshua and Ty Abra­ham got an ear­ly birth­day gift on Tues­day when they won the sib­ling show­down against Ba­jan broth­ers Gavin and Matthew Hutchin­son in the ITF Ju­nior Ten­nis Tour­na­ment in Bar­ba­dos.

The Abra­ham broth­ers, who will turn 17 on Mon­day, need­ed three sets to ad­vance to the quar­ter­fi­nals of the Boys Un­der-18 Dou­bles draw. The Abra­hams won the first set 6-3, but 17-year-old Matthew and 15-year-old Gavin bounced back to take the sec­ond set 6-3. The twins even­tu­al­ly pre­vailed 10-7 in the third set. They were sched­uled to play their quar­ter­fi­nal, yes­ter­day evening.

Na­tion­al play­er Bre­ana Stampfli, had a mixed day at the of­fice on Tues­day. In the Girls Un­der-18 Dou­bles Round One match, the num­ber-one seed­ed pair of Stampfli and Je­ung Won Yang of Ko­rea were sur­pris­ing­ly beat­en by Jen­nifer Que­nard (Switzer­land) and Luisa Ste­fani (Brazil). Que­nard and Ste­fani won 6-4, 6-2 to ad­vance to the quar­ter­fi­nals.

On the oth­er hand, Stampfli, who is seed­ed num­ber four in the Girls Un­der-18 Sin­gles draw, breezed past Amer­i­can Madi­son Har­ri­son 6-3, 6-3 to ad­vance to the quar­ter­fi­nals. She was sched­uled to play Jen­na Friedel of USA yes­ter­day.
