Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC) and Moosai ended the game yesterday with scores level, but the result was not declared a tie. If a match ends in a tie in this T20 competition, a super over has to be played to break the tie but there was not enough time to play a super over due to fading light.
David Furlonge, QPCC coach, said after the match, "There was not enough time to break the tie in a super over due to poor light, so the board has to make a decision on what the result would be."
The lights at the Queen's Park Oval could not be turned on because this match was scheduled to be a day match.
In another Group A match yesterday, Emile Rajah and Mario Belcon helped Merry Boys inch past Bamboo by 11 runs in their round three Group A clash at the Diego Martin Recreational Ground in the TTCB Premiership T20 competition.
In a match shortened to 12 overs due to afternoon rain, Merry Boys posted 102/4 behind Belcon's knock of 38 and Aaron Alfred's 29. Darren Deonarine was the best bowler for Bamboo, snatching 3/26. In reply, Bamboo could only muster 91/7 in their 12 overs. Emile Rajah's 4/16 ensured Merry Boys came out on top. Rajah was well supported by Javed Ramdanee (2/25).
There was no action in Group B, as the Powergen/Clarke Road match and the Esmeralda/Caldrac encounter were both abandoned due to rain. In the other Group B match, Wanderers did not show up for their match against Diamond United.
