Vishnu Boys aiming to continue good season
Vishnu Boys will be looking to continue their successful season when they tackle Moruga Secondary today in Round One of the Powergen Secondary Schools Intercol Knockout T20 competition.
Vishnu Boys won the 50 over championship division league title earlier in the season to earn promotion into the Premier Division next season. Vishnu will be huge favourites when they welcome Moruga to the Esmeralda Recreation Ground. Moruga were crushed by 253 runs at the hands of Vishnu in the last round of the league competition.
National u-19 players Vikash Mohan and Andy Gobin, who will line up for Vishnu today, guided the team to the victory over Moruga with a partnership of over 200 runs. Gobin made 123, while Mohan got 92.
In another re-match of the last round of the league competition, Presentation College San Fernando will make a trip to the north to face St Mary’s College in St Clair. St Mary’s earned a “winning draw” last time the two teams faced each other.
In other matches, Barrackpore West will hosts Signal Hill, Toco Secondary will make the long journey to play Shiva Boys in Penal, and Barataria South will welcome Cowen Hamilton to the Barataria ball players grounds.
All matches are scheduled to begin at 11 am.
