The BGTT Under-19 InterZone Final will bowl off today at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva, with Central coming up against North Zone in the two-day encounter.
National player Nicholas Pooran will lead the Central team into the match that begins at 10 am. Central has been quite strong in the batting department. In their semifinal match against East, they made over 500 runs in the match. St Mary's College student Jesse Batson scored 79 in the first innings total of 258, while Vishnu Boys student Andy Gobin top-scored with 84 in the team's second innings of 260/8 declared.
However, the strong batting line-up of the Central Zone will have to be at their best against North's bowling attack. North will have the likes of in form bowlers Tion Webster and Kelly Rosales. Medium-fast bowler Webster took seven wickets in the match against South East in the semifinal, while Rosales helped himself to six wickets with his off-spin.
North coach Claude Phillip said yesterday, "We are fit and ready to go."
