A brilliant unbeaten 130 from national cricketer Stacy-Ann King led Technocrats to a crushing 118-run win over Maaad Rangers last Sunday in the T&T Women's Cricket Association (TTWCA) Premiership Division 40-over League.
Batting first, left-handed King made more than half of her team's runs, guiding them to a competitive 233/5. King performed well in the national team's recently-concluded tour of South Africa where she made scores of 50 not out and 42.
For Technocrats, Whitney Cudjoe also contributed a valuable 33, while Alicia Villafana took 2/37 for Maaad Rangers. In response, despite an even 50 by Melissa Sandy, Maaad Rangers were skittled out for 115 in 32.3 overs. King could not stay out of the spotlight, as she grabbed 3/20.
Over at the Pinto Recreation Ground, Rackeal Bissoon showed that she belongs in national colours. Bissoon blasted 69 to lead Phoenix Women to a huge 144-run win over Spice Girls. Bissoon made her debut for the national team on the tour of South Africa. She was helped by another national player, Felicia Walters, who struck 50 to guide Phoenix to 243. Stephanie Ramcharan snatched five wickets (5/26) for Maaad Rangers.
Three wickets apiece from Leandra Ramdeen (3/11) and Felicia Walters (3/18) ensured Spice Girls never got close. Sylvie Bhola made a valiant 29, but it was not enough as Spice Girls were bundled out for 115.
