Ju­ve­nile rid­er Keiana Lester con­tin­ued to shine on Wednes­day night, as ac­tion con­tin­ued in the T&T Cy­cling Fed­er­a­tion's (TTCF) Na­tion­al Cy­cling Cham­pi­onships, when she set a new track record of 39.528 sec­onds in the ju­nior women 500m time tri­al at the Ari­ma Velo­drome.

The event, which was used as a tri­al for the 2013 Ju­nior Pan Amer­i­can Cy­cling Cham­pi­onship, saw four rid­ers–Lester, Kol­lyn St George, Joy Abi­gail-John and Az­iza Browne–dip be­low the 41-sec­ond stan­dard.

In the end the event was won by Browne (40.207 sec­onds), with Cheyenne Awai fin­ish­ing sec­ond (42.381 sec­onds).

De­gree Madon­na's Kasim Charles Wal­cott cap­tured the ju­nior men's 3km in­di­vid­ual pur­suit in 4:07.337, while Ur­ba Bourne, who was in con­stant bat­tle for sec­ond and third in the om­ni­um events, fin­ished run­ner-up in 4:14.462.

In the elite men's 4km in­di­vid­ual pur­suit, Jov­ian Gomez of Team DPS set the fastest qual­i­fy­ing time in 5:10:00. Gomez then went on to dom­i­nate in the gold medal ride-off catch­ing Troy Nel­son to end the event.

Im­pres­sive yet again was undis­put­ed ju­nior om­ni­um cham­pi­on Justin Roberts, who smashed a new record in the ju­nior's 1km time tri­al in 1:08.126, leav­ing Samuel Ma­habir, the run­ner-up, more than sev­en sec­onds be­hind. Roberts erased Quin­cy Alexan­der's record, who now as an elite cy­clist in­ci­den­tal­ly broke a new record of his own en route to the 1km time tri­al gold. Alexan­der smashed a two-year-old record set by Olympic cy­clist Njisane Phillip, when he fin­ished in 1:06.326.

Tonight, ac­tion will con­tin­ue with a flur­ry of sprint events at the Ari­ma Velo­drome, from 7 pm.
