Last year's tre­ble tro­phy win­ner Re­al Di­men­sion will kick off its cam­paign seek­ing a win against Mal­ick City, when both clubs lock horns in the open­ing round of North East Stars-spon­sored T&T Women's League Foot­ball (Wolf) Pre­mier Di­vi­sion match­es, at UWI Ground, St Au­gus­tine, from 4 pm to­day.

Di­men­sion, one of T&T's most suc­cess­ful women's foot­ball clubs, cap­tured the Pre­mier Di­vi­sion ti­tle, the FA Tro­phy and the Big-Four com­pe­ti­tion last year. The club is among sev­en oth­ers to chal­lenge the top tier di­vi­sion: De­fence Force, Mal­ick City, St Ann's Rangers, St Au­gus­tine SC, Step By Step, To­ba­go Unit­ed, Trinci­ty Na­tion­als and the na­tion­al Un­der-17 Team. Trinci­ty Na­tion­als and De­fence Force will con­test to­day's on­ly oth­er Pre­mier Di­vi­sion match at the Ed­die Hart Ground, Tacarigua, from 4 pm.

The na­tion­al U-17s have been in­clud­ed in this year's com­pe­ti­tion in aid of their prepa­ra­tion for the Caribbean Foot­ball Union's (CFU) qual­i­fi­ca­tion for the Con­ca­caf U-17 Cham­pi­onship, in Au­gust. Among the top play­ers in the team is Shinelle Ar­joon, a reg­u­lar goalscor­er who made the switch this year from her home­town club Debe All Stars. The top prize up for grabs in the Pre­mier Di­vi­sion is $12,000, which will un­doubt­ed­ly help in the team's prepa­ra­tion for the com­pe­ti­tion.

The Big-Four win­ner will take $10,000, with the run­ner-up, third and fourth-placed teams tak­ing $6,000, $4,000 and $2,000, re­spec­tive­ly. The First Di­vi­sion, com­pris­ing nine teams is split in­to two groups. Group A in­cludes To­ba­go All Stars, Tu­na­puna Ti­tans, UWI, Cen­tral FC, Mal­abar All Stars. In Group B are the Min­istry of Sport (MOS) Schoolaz, Pt Fortin Pi­o­neers and La Brea All Stars.

On­ly one First Di­vi­sion match will be played to­day when Tu­na­puna Ti­tans takes on new­ly es­tab­lished women's team Cen­tral FC, at Con­stan­tine Park, Ma­coya, from 4 pm. A host of oth­er match­es will be played in the two di­vi­sions over the course of the week­end (see at­tached fix­tures).
