Super Industrial Services Limited continued their run of form in the Industrial Cricket League with a solid win over Air Liquide (Trinidad) Limited on Thursday.
Choosing to bat first, openers Dinesh Rambajhan and Roger Williams provided an excellent start for the hosts with a 74 run opening stand that lasted just six overs before Williams was out caught at long-off for a well played 28.
Rambajhan remained the anchor for his team as he picked Air Liquid's bowling with fine form and kept the run rate ticking.
He blasted nine sixes and two fours on his way to an impressive 75 not out as he led his team to a mammoth 133 for the loss of two wickets in their ten overs.
Air Liquide were then skittled out for 31 runs as they attacked SIS's bowlers looking for runs but paid the ultimate price.
Rambajhan returned with the ball to claim three wickets for just two runs in 1.1 overs and was well supported by captain Randy Ramsahai (3/7) and Fakira Bhanoo (3/6).
Over at the IPSL Ground, the feature match saw Group B leaders PCS Nitrogen come up against an unpredictable NGC outfit.
Batting first, NGC started tamely and lost their first two wickets with just ten runs on the board after three overs.
Sean Siloch batted well to ensure that his team posted a defendable total against a PCS batting lineup that has proven to be very dangerous throughout the competition.
Siloch's knock of 26 along with a cameo 12 from A Chanda saw NGC to 65 runs after their ten overs. Mark Doman was the standout bowler for PCS Nitrogen, claiming two wickets for just six runs in his two overs.
PCS Nitrogen fumbled early on, with both openers back in the pavilion with just 2 runs on the board. M Heeraman and Hayden Rampersad came together after the third wicket fell for 20 runs in the fourth over, and the pair took control of the innings. They were both very aggressive in their batting and went after NGC's bowlers.
Heeraman ended on 29 not out while Rampersad top scored with 37 not out, the pair blasting a total of 11 boundaries in just 20 balls to see their team home by seven wickets after 5.3 overs.
PCS Nitrogen now sit firmly atop their group with four successive wins from as many matches.
