Athletes of both the Rainbow Warriors Triathlon Club and Team Hope visited Tobago this past weekend in preparation for the Neal & Massy Rainbow Cup International Triathlon, which runs off on June 22.
Led by former national champion Jason Gooding, the triathletes went through their paces on Saturday and then completed a race on Sunday morning. Joining the Trinidad crew was a promising 18-year-old, Matthew Chung of Tobago. Last year's winner of the sprint distance and Carifta double gold medallist Mark London was also on hand to support theWarriors. London, however, will not attempt to defend his title as he is set for an alternate event in Trinidad on the same day. His father, James, however, will don RWTC's colours in the relay event.
The Warriors will be getting another tune-up on Sunday when the T&T Triathlon Federation stages a "keep-fit" triathlon at Chaguaramas from 7 am.
