Juniors hoping to represent T&T at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, in Nanjing, China, will need to be at their best at the first leg of the juniors Solo Open Badminton Championship, which opens at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena (CRISA), Chaguanas, from 9 am to 6 pm, tomorrow.
The competition will continue next Saturday at the same venue. The seniors version of the Open Championship will also take place at CRISA, from Monday to Thursday at 7-11 pm on all days.
At the end of the final event before the Youth Olympic Games, the T&T Badminton Association (TTBA) will tabulate the scores of the preceding juniors tournaments to select the top players.
Some of the past champions who are expected to compete include last year's quadruple crown winner Kristi Reno-Singh, Sheraz Nabbie, Jason Ramjass, Ralitsa Wong, among others.
