HER­SHEY–The sea­son has cul­mi­nat­ed to this point, as the No 16 West Flori­da men's golf team which in­clud­ed T&T's Tal­in Re­jen­dranath, is set to com­pete in the 2013 NCAA Di­vi­sion II Men's Golf Cham­pi­onships tak­ing place at Her­shey Coun­try Club in Her­shey, Philade­phia, be­gin­ning to­day.

The Arg­onauts will vie for their third na­tion­al cham­pi­onship all-time and re­turn to the tour­na­ment for the first time since 2008, when they last won the ti­tle. This is the ninth ap­pear­ance West Flori­da has made at Na­tion­als. The tour­na­ment runs from un­til Fri­day. The for­mat is three days of stroke play, 18 holes a day, be­fore a cut is made fol­low­ing Wednes­day's ac­tion.

On­ly the top eight teams ad­vance from there, where they will bat­tle in medal match play for­mat. Un­like tra­di­tion­al match play where the match can end ear­ly be­cause there are not enough holes left for the per­son los­ing to come back and win, each match will play out the full 18 holes in case the fi­nal re­sults are need­ed for a tie break­er.

The quar­ter­fi­nal and semi­fi­nal rounds of medal match play take place Thurs­day, with the cham­pi­onship round Fri­day. Re­jen­dranath of San Fer­nan­do, who at­tend­ed Na­pari­ma Col­lege, Arg­onauts' line­up will al­so in­clude Gulf South Con­fer­ence All-Tour­na­ment team mem­bers Juan Miguel Here­dia and Spencer Ol­son .
