Three dif­fer­ent play­ers were on tar­get as Notre Dame blanked host Par­adise 3-0 in the T&T Hock­ey Board Men's Cham­pi­onships Di­vi­sion at the Dwight Yorke Sta­di­um, Train­ing Ground, Ba­co­let yes­ter­day.Edrich Fran­cois opened the scor­ing as ear­ly as the sev­enth minute for the Dames while Nigel Prov­i­dence made it 2-0 on the brink of half-time be­fore To­bias Ot­t­ley added the oth­er, two min­utes from the end.

The win was the third from six match­es for the Dames to join Queen's Park on nine points, how­ev­er the lat­ter has two match­es in hand in the race for the fourth and fi­nal "Big-Four" play­off spot which will be de­ter­mined at the end of the first round.At the top of the eight-team stand­ings is three-time reign­ing cham­pi­on Petrotrin with max­i­mum 15 points, two ahead of De­fence Force and Paragon.In the Women's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion, Notre Dame picked up three more points with­out break­ing a sweat.This af­ter they were award­ed their match against Par­adise yes­ter­day at Ba­co­let by de­fault.

The Dames now have max­i­mum 12 points from their four match­es, four ahead Paragon which was held to a 1-1 draw by Har­vard Mar­itime Check­ers (sev­en points) on Fri­day night at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua.For Paragon which had a chance to go top for at least 24 hours, Pauline Joseph scored the go-ahead goal on­ly for Sh­er­nice Cato to earn Check­ers, third with sev­en points, a draw,Par­adise moved in­to sole pos­ses­sion of sec­ond spot in the Trin­i­ty Men's Di­vi­sion af­ter a 1-0 win over Notre Dame thanks to Jeron Thom­spon's 37th minute goal.

Par­adise's vic­to­ry, its fourth in six match­es pushed its points 13, two be­hind un­beat­en joint lead­ers Queen's Park and Malvern, and one ahead of Notre Dame.

In an­oth­er Trin­i­ty match, Patrick Taitt and Leroy Sookdeo scored for Shape to pip Carib, 2-1 and pick up its first points of the sea­son af­ter four match­es.David Legall got the goal for Carib, now sec­ond from bot­tom of the 11-team ta­ble with one point from four match­es.
