Earnil Ryan blasted an unbeaten 72 to hand Glenora Sports Club a 41-run win over Santa Cruz to clinch the T20 North Zone title at the Queen's Park Savannah last Sunday.
Glenora captain Kelvin John won the toss and elected to bat and the decision proved to be a favourable one. Glenora posted 181/6, behind Ryan's match-winning knock. Ryan was well supported by Dave Adams and Clevon Frederick, who made 34 and 24, respectively. Mark Apparicio snatched two wickets for Santa Cruz, but was expensive, conceding 43 runs in his four overs.
In reply, Santa Cruz could only muster 140/6, as brilliant fielding from Glenora led to three run outs at the top of the order. Alvin Smith top-scored with 39 and Michael Fraser contributed 29 for Santa Cruz in the losing effort. Ryan (1/17) and John (1/15) also took one wicket apiece to add to the demise of the Santa Cruz batting card.
