Malick City, having won its opening two matches, will be seeking to find itself at the top of the Premier Division standings when the club hosts the national under-17 girls team in the lone Japs-sponsored Women's League Football (Wolf) match of the day at Maracas, St Joseph, from 5 pm.
Malick City remains the only club in the Premier Division with a 100 per cent record, while the national outfit is yet to convince its supporters with just one win in three outings thus far.The national U-17 team opened its campaign almost three weeks ago with a 2-2 draw against Step by Step FC. The team followed up a week later with a disappointing 5-0 whipping by the defending champion Real Dimension FC, before travelling to Tobago to secure its first victory of the campaign, albeit narrowly (2-1) over Tobago United. Incidentally, Malick played Tobago United in its last match and won 2-0. It also triumphed against Real Dimension in its season opener, stunning the champions 3-1.
Nevertheless, with four points, the under-17 team will rise to the top of the standings with a win, at least temporarily ahead of the remaining Premier Division fixtures for the match day which wraps up tomorrow. Two matches will be played in the said division, while one has been postponed. Tobago United's clash with Defence Force will be on a day to be announced.
