Mal­ick City, hav­ing won its open­ing two match­es, will be seek­ing to find it­self at the top of the Pre­mier Di­vi­sion stand­ings when the club hosts the na­tion­al un­der-17 girls team in the lone Japs-spon­sored Women's League Foot­ball (Wolf) match of the day at Mara­cas, St Joseph, from 5 pm.

Mal­ick City re­mains the on­ly club in the Pre­mier Di­vi­sion with a 100 per cent record, while the na­tion­al out­fit is yet to con­vince its sup­port­ers with just one win in three out­ings thus far.The na­tion­al U-17 team opened its cam­paign al­most three weeks ago with a 2-2 draw against Step by Step FC. The team fol­lowed up a week lat­er with a dis­ap­point­ing 5-0 whip­ping by the de­fend­ing cham­pi­on Re­al Di­men­sion FC, be­fore trav­el­ling to To­ba­go to se­cure its first vic­to­ry of the cam­paign, al­beit nar­row­ly (2-1) over To­ba­go Unit­ed. In­ci­den­tal­ly, Mal­ick played To­ba­go Unit­ed in its last match and won 2-0. It al­so tri­umphed against Re­al Di­men­sion in its sea­son open­er, stun­ning the cham­pi­ons 3-1.

Nev­er­the­less, with four points, the un­der-17 team will rise to the top of the stand­ings with a win, at least tem­porar­i­ly ahead of the re­main­ing Pre­mier Di­vi­sion fix­tures for the match day which wraps up to­mor­row. Two match­es will be played in the said di­vi­sion, while one has been post­poned. To­ba­go Unit­ed's clash with De­fence Force will be on a day to be an­nounced.
