Suri­name's Gi­no Naar­den and Keven Spork­slede were both in dou­ble-fig­ures as BIG South East Port-of-Spain (SE­PoS) end­ed the Men's Di­vi­sion of the Caribbean Vol­ley­ball League by sweep­ing past last year's win­ner Glam­or­gan 25-22, 25-20, 25-23 in the bronze medal match at the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies, Sports and Phys­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion­al Cen­tre (UWI SPEC), St Au­gus­tine, yes­ter­day.

Naar­den tal­lied 14 points, all kills while Spork­slede had 12 kills in his 13 points con­tri­bu­tion for SE­PoS. Bar­ba­di­an Fabi­an Cox, Akim Bushe and Al­leyne Lon­don al­so chipped in with nine, eight and five points.USA's Jor­dan Du Fault was the lone play­er in dou­ble-fig­ures for Glam­or­gan, with 13 points while Ba­hami­an By­ron Fer­gu­son (nine), Ryan Stew­art (sev­en), Ba­hami­an Prince'tanique Wil­son (six) and Ja­maica's Del­lan Brown (five) al­so chipped in.

In last night's fi­nal, To­co Youths came up against last year's run­ner-up Tech­nocrats which over­came SE­PoS 26-24, 25-19, 20-25, 25-21 in one hour, 40 min­utes in their semi­fi­nal on Sat­ur­day night.Lead­ing the way for To­co was Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Jose Cac­eres and Elvis Con­tr­eras, along with Por­tu­gal-based T&T pro­fes­sion­al, Marc-An­tho­ny Hon­ore.Cac­eres end­ed with 24 points, in­clu­sive of 20 kills and four blocks while Con­tr­eras had 12 kills, four blocks and sev­en aces in his 23 points and Hon­ore, nine as they outscored SE­PoS on spikes, 48-42, 13-8 on blocks and 8-5 on ser­vice aces to have a chance at claim­ing the win­ner-take-all US$5,000 top prize.

In the women's equiv­a­lent, Cu­ra­cao's Chris­tine An­tho­ny had a match high 24 points as Tech­nocrats en­joyed a 25-9, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20 whip­ping of New Aris­ing Sports Com­pa­ny.An­tho­ny had 17 kills and sev­en aces in her tal­ly. Saman­tha Prescott with 12 points, Ja­maican Chirene Richards with 11, and An­drea Kin­sale added eight.For New Aris­ing Sports Com­pa­ny, US Vir­gin Is­lands' Valis­sia Brath­waite had ten points, Ma­li­ka David­son nine, and Danielle Selkridge, sev­en in the fi­nal which was con­test­ed last night, de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons, Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T came up against Glam­or­gan.
