Moosai on TTWCA treble quest

Moo­sai main­tained their quest for three ti­tles this sea­son with two bril­liant per­for­mances yes­ter­day as ac­tion bowled off in the Pre­mier­ship T20 T&T Women's Crick­et As­so­ci­a­tion (TTWCA) com­pe­ti­tion at the Dins­ley Recre­ation Ground.

Ear­li­er this sea­son, Moo­sai won the 40-over league and the 30-over knock­out com­pe­ti­tion. In Moo­sai's first match against Crick­et Lovers at 10 am, a bril­liant all-round bat­ting per­for­mance from Moo­sai led them to an 82-run win over Crick­et Lovers. Bat­ting first, Moo­sai post­ed a mam­moth 163/6. Aman­da Sama­roo (35), Chadean Na­tion (31) and Lee Ann Kir­by (29) all made valu­able con­tri­bu­tions to the to­tal. Nicole George was the pick of the bowlers for Crick­et Lovers, pick­ing up 1/15.

In re­ply, Kir­by was al­so among the wick­ets, tak­ing 3/8 to re­duce Crick­et Lovers to 81/7 off their 20 overs. Shari John (2/11) and Kir­by­i­na Alexan­der (2/19) both grabbed two wick­ets to add to the demise of the Crick­et Lovers bat­ting. On­ly Na­tal­ie Ni­na of­fered some re­sis­tance, mak­ing 20, but it was not enough.

In their sec­ond en­counter of the day, Moo­sai's bowl­ing ef­fort led the team to a com­fort­able eight-wick­et win over Maaad Rangers. Bowl­ing first, Moo­sai re­strict­ed Maaad Rangers to a dis­mal 57 all out.

Na­tion­al play­er Anisa Mo­hammed put up some fight, scor­ing 22. Shanel­la Townsend was the best bowler for Moo­sai, tak­ing two wick­ets for on­ly four runs.

Moo­sai's na­tion­al play­ers led the chase, with Sama­roo top-scor­ing with 23 and Alexan­der mak­ing an un­beat­en 17. Mo­hammed was al­so among the wick­ets, snatch­ing 2/7, but Moo­sai cruised to the tar­get in 11.4 overs.
