Cunaripo in major Atlantic cricket upset
Cunaripo Presbyterian created the upset of the season, when they humbled defending Atlantic Primary Schools champions Whim Anglican by six wickets at Bamboo Recreation Ground in Bamboo yesterday.
Whim, taking first strike, made just 74 all out, with skipper Joshua James the only open offering any resistance with 21 runs. Andy Mahase who had a great all-round game snared 3/11 and his partner at the other end Dillon Partap grabbed 4/12.
Mahase then turned batsman and scored a well controlled 31 to lead his school to their most famous win at 75 for four wickets with eight balls to spare. On Wednesday, Whim looked like champions when they steamrolled Bamboo Government by 72 runs at Signal Hill in Tobago.
James was in prime form, getting an unbeaten 80 to lead his school to an impressive 174 for four off their 20 overs. Bamboo in reply lost their main batsman, skipper Azarion Samuel early and struggled to 100 for six off their 20 overs losing the game handsomely.
The other Tobago team in the Inter-District competition, Bon Accord, has been off colour and has lost both matches to date. In their first game, they crashed to 49 all out to Tunapuna Presbyterian, who romped to a nine-wicket victory and in their second game yesterday, they were defeated by Sangre Grande Hindu by 17 runs.

Diego Martin Government 73 all out vs Sangre Grande Hindu 74/1 (Rishi Sookoo 24) - Sangre Grande Hindu won by 9 wkts.
Whim Anglican 172/4 (Joshua James 80no, Keston Rodney 16, Gereeb Louis 28, Sayyad Mirza 2/20) vs Bamboo Government 100/6 (Travin Mohan 25no, Alexander Cassiram 16, Joshua James 2/16) - Whim won by 72 runs.
Cunaripo Presbyterian 183 all out vs Belmont Government 47 all out - Cunaripio won by 136 runs.
Sangre Grande Hindu 100/7 (20) (Kriston Sooklal 10) vs Bon Accord 83 all out (18)(Rishi Sookoo 5/21) - Sangre Grande Hindu won by 17 runs.
Whim Anglican 74 all out (16.3)(Joshua James 21, Andy Mahase 3/11, Dillon Partap 4/12) vs Cunaripo 75/4 (18.2)(Andy Mahase 31, Kylan Brathwaite 2/14) - Cunaripo Pres won by 6 wkts.
South Central Anglican 123 all out (Nicholas Rampaul 54no, Ethan Majadinsingh 2/11, Zameer Baksh 2/18, Aaron Bankay 2/21) vs Montrose 124/9 (19.4)(Dawson Harry 29, Abdiel Diaz 12, Ryan Pooran 10) - Montrose won by 1 wkt.
