The much anticipated finals of the 2013 Atlantic Primary Schools cricket tournament takes place today at the Queen's Park Oval in Port-of-Spain.
Cunaripo Government will be coming up against St Mary's Government in the boys finals at 5pm and preceeding that game the girls from Mason Hall in Tobago will battle Talparo RC from 1pm.
The fact that St. Mary's Government from Moruga is in the final, has captured the attention of the sleepy southern village and from all reports their fans will be coming into the Oval in numbers to support their team.
St. Mary's got to the finals after beating last year's runners-up Tunapuna Presbyterian in a cliff hanger in the second game at the NCC on Wednesday. Batting first Tunapuna rallied well to reach 129 for seven in 20 overs and St Mary's then got home on the last ball reaching 131 for five.
Cunaripo on the other hand reached the title match after getting past Clarke Rochard by a commanding seven wickets.
At the finals today the players will be met by Atlantic's Sport Ambassador Merissa Aguilleira, West Indies Women's Cricket Captain and Derek Daniel, Manager, Branding & Communication, Atlantic.
