Twen­ty-two year-old Tal­in Ra­jen­dranath will be the most ex­pe­ri­enced mem­ber of a young Ho­er­man Cup team se­lect­ed to rep­re­sent T&T in the up­com­ing Caribbean Am­a­teur Golf Cham­pi­onships in St Thomas US Vir­gin Is­lands from Au­gust 6-12.

Ra­jen­dranath, the on­ly re­turn­ing mem­ber of the team which fin­ished sixth last year, will be joined by teenagers An­drei Collins (19), Matthew Mar­quez (17), Wan Joo Lee (16) and Sachin Ku­mar (14). Collins was the top play­er of the tri­als, shoot­ing a to­tal of 296.

Mean­while, Moni­fa Sealy (20) will be joined by new­com­ers Christi­na Fer­reira (17) and Ys­abelle Lawrence (15) on the Ladies team, which will be de­fend­ing its ti­tle in the George Teale Tro­phy. The pair have re­placed Brit­tany Mar­quez and Kelsey Lou Hing, Sealy's vic­to­ri­ous team­mates from last year.

Se­niors Car­los Baynes and Michael Com­mis­siong will be go­ing for their third Fran­cis Steele Perkins ti­tle in four years while the Su­per Se­niors team will com­prise of Ar­joon Sam­lal, who part­nered with Fabi­an Lee Foon to win last year's Hig­gs and Hig­gs Cup, and Mon­ty Chap­man, a for­mer win­ner him­self.

The Mid Am­a­teur team of Clint Al­fred and Dave Ra­jku­mar will seek to im­prove on their per­for­mance in last year's Ra­mon Baez tro­phy, in which they placed sev­enth.

T&T placed sec­ond over­all last year be­hind Puer­to Ri­co.
