The East and Cen­tral zones were pre­vent­ed from win­ning three match­es on the trot yes­ter­day as rain stole the show in the BGTT Un­der-13 In­ter­Zone crick­et com­pe­ti­tion.Less than 50 overs were bowled on the day in the four match­es com­bined. At the Ca­roni Sa­van­nah, Cen­tral cap­tain Crys­t­ian Thur­ton got some bat­ting prac­tice, scor­ing 29 be­fore the rains came. The match was called off with Cen­tral on 77/5 af­ter 17 overs. Aaron Nanan was the pick of the bowlers, grab­bing 3/7. Cen­tral de­feat­ed South-West by ten wick­ets last week Tues­day and got past South-East by 34 runs on Mon­day.

Over at Hon­ey­moon Park, El Do­ra­do, East were look­ing good to make it three wins in a row when rain end­ed play. Around 1 pm, the heav­ens opened up with To­ba­go on 86/8 in the 25th over. East has been dom­i­nat­ing the com­pe­ti­tion, crush­ing North-East by 206 runs and rolling over North by nine wick­ets. East bats­man Kirston Kallicha­ran has shown his abil­i­ty in the tour­na­ment, scor­ing 200 runs in two in­nings.
