The East and Central zones were prevented from winning three matches on the trot yesterday as rain stole the show in the BGTT Under-13 InterZone cricket competition.Less than 50 overs were bowled on the day in the four matches combined. At the Caroni Savannah, Central captain Crystian Thurton got some batting practice, scoring 29 before the rains came. The match was called off with Central on 77/5 after 17 overs. Aaron Nanan was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing 3/7. Central defeated South-West by ten wickets last week Tuesday and got past South-East by 34 runs on Monday.
Over at Honeymoon Park, El Dorado, East were looking good to make it three wins in a row when rain ended play. Around 1 pm, the heavens opened up with Tobago on 86/8 in the 25th over. East has been dominating the competition, crushing North-East by 206 runs and rolling over North by nine wickets. East batsman Kirston Kallicharan has shown his ability in the tournament, scoring 200 runs in two innings.
