Stewart stars in St Mary’s Home win
Samuel Stewart struck 78 to lead the St Mary’s Children Home to a comfortable 30-run win over St Mary’s AC, as action continued in the Inter-Primary Block-up Windball Cricket competition at Constantine Park, Macoya.
Batting first in this 12-over match, Stewart’s knock guided the Children’s Home to a mammoth total of 153. After the early loss of opening batsman Tyler Roberts, Stewart and Jovan Dass (37) shared in a brilliant partnership, to guide the team to a winning position.
In reply, St Mary’s AC put up a good fight, getting to 123/5 off their 12 overs. Akil Morris and opening batsman A Thomas both batted well, scoring 21 each.
In another match at Constantine Park, Azarion Samuel blasted a half century (55) to lead Bamboo Government to a 29-run win over Curepe Presbyterian. Samuel’s knock included seven fours, as Bamboo posted 127/5 in 12. Samuel’s opening partner, Travis Mohan, pitched in with 19.
Despite knocks of 19 and 18 from Jimmy Atwell and Ashton Ramsaroop, respectively. Curepe could only muster 98 to hand Bamboo the win.
